June Card class and Baby Book

Lynn & I were the only ones to go to card class this month. Ruth Ann was out of town and Sally had a birthday party to go to. We made two cards this time, similar but with different sentiments and colors.
Don't know why this picture won't go the right way. Oh, well, you can get the idea anyway.
I have been working on shower invitations for Jessica's shower. They are shaker cards so the little hearts move when you move the card. I am almost finished with them. After that, I have to get started on my 4th of July cards and get them finished today.
I took a baby album class Saturday at Violettes. I am going to send it to my godchild, Kelly. She had a baby boy a few months ago and I haven't mailed her a gift yet.

Can't wait to send it to her. I also am sending her one of those magnetic photo frames so she can do pages for it herself.  I did one for her to get her started with pictures she sent me.

June, 2012

I have to comment on the two 4th grade Language Arts teachers at my school this year. They are wonderful. Not only are they fabulous teachers but they made Battle of the Books so successful for me this year. They bought in to it like I have never, ever, had teachers buy into anything I have done before. They planned all their lessons together, and read, discussed, and dissected eight of the 15 books with their classes. I have never had students so prepared and knowledgeable about the battle books in 13 thirteen years of being a Media Specialist. I was so grateful I gave them both a 2012 battle book to start reading this summer, a gift certificate to Barnes and Nobles, and I made them these cards. I love you Ms. Salguaro and Ms. Irving!
Father's Day was Sunday, and the boys came for a visit. Brooke had a girls only weekend, so Adam, Jack and Bennett were here with us. Those two little boys are so delightful and we had a ball with them. Jack is completely potty trained and goes all by himself. Such a big boy!! The two of them are fish. They absolutely love the water and you can't keep them out of it. I guess they come by it naturally since both their parents were on swim teams growing up.
Here they are with grandpa opening his Father's Day present.
Poor Katie. Jack surrounded her with his cars. He is totally obsessed with them, just like Adam and Alex were when they were little.
Bennett, looking out the window at the fish in our pond.
I have been working on pages for my scrapbook. I did 6 pages today. All I have to do to catch up is Jack's birthday, Bennett's birthday, and our trip to Disney for the flower festival. Here are the ones I finished today. I still need to journal on some of them.
For the above page, I cut sections of the flowers and leaves out and inserted the mounted photos. I like the look.
I finally did my Christmas pages-they are Tami Potter's Mosaic Moments pre-cut pages. Sure makes it quick and simple and I like the look too.
I need to journal on these pages. They are of Sasha in different dance outfits. I need Frances to send me info on it. I know it has to do with her school, but that is all I know.

May 2012

Card class was great, as usual. We made two cards. Here is one for Father's Day. The other card was masculine too but I didn't get to take a picture of it. James needed a B-day card for a co-worker, so he took it the next day to work. .
I worked on some more pages and did these two for Grandparents Day at Jack's preschool in February.]
The kids came to Tampa for the weekend a few weeks ago. We enjoy having them so much. The boys are growing so fast and are so adorable, sweet and very well behaved.
This past Saturday, Lynn and I went to Orlando for a day of R&R at the Scrapbooking Expo. We had a great time and, of course, spent too much money. We did a few make & takes that turned out nice.
Here are two of them. I may use the first one in my heritage album.
This one I did to put a picture of Sasha on it.
I bought some card sets and made one card when I got home. They are shaker cards, which I think are neat.
Spending the day at the convention was just the TLC we both needed. I bought several really cute page kits that I can't wait to do. Only 14 more days to work and then I am free for 8 weeks. YEAH!!!

Finally Some Finished Pages

I finally found some time to work on some pages. I really need to do pages on Bennett, but I plan to do that when school is out and I can devote a lot of time to his pictures.
These pages are from my birthday in January. James and I spent the weekend in Fort Myers. We drove down on Saturday morning and had lunch at a great restaurant and then headed downtown the an arts festival. It was wonderful. They had so many beautiful and unusual items. I would have loved to buy some but they were definitely out of our price range. Most booths would not allow pictures but a few said it was fine.
The high schools were having a sidewalk mural contest. They were really talented.

On Saturday night we sent to the Murder Mystery Dinner Train. It was so much fun. The food was really good and the play was cute and funny. We will definitely do it again. They change the plays often.
Part of the package was a room at the Courtyard Marriott including a fabulous hot breakfast.
Afterwards we drove over to Sanibel Island. We walked the beach for awhile and then went to lunch at a restaurant right on the water.
I love doing these mosaic pages.

Heritage Class

Saturday, Lynn & I went to Violette's in Lakeland for another Heritage Scrapbooking class. We have taken many of them over the past few years and love to take classes from Florence. Some day I may actually put old family photos on all the lovely pages we have made. These are the ones we made this Saturday.
Sorry this one is sideways but I couldn't get it to come up the right way.
We planted some flowers last weekend out front and around the pool. Here are some pictures of the front walkway.
The purple ones are a type of lavender. I really like them. They are full of purple flowers and smell so good.
Here is a close up of one of them.

We also created a flowerbed around one end of the pool in the back. I love it and want to do one on the other end too.
I can't wait till they all grow big and into each other and create one massive flower arrangement.

April Card Class etc.

Sally, RuthAnn, and I went to card class this past week. As usual, we had a great time (though we did miss you Lynn,) went out to eat afterwards and I drove everyone to Lakeland and back in my new car. I really am in love with it. I have been waiting 15 years for a new car. This one has everything on it, navigation, bluetooth, music box (I can record my CD's into it and then don't have to have them with me), a fabulous 10 speaker stereo system, duel air, and it seats seven-room for the grandbabies-yeah.
At card class we made two cards using a different type watercolors. They were in small jars and we had to add water to them. They have a shimmer to them when they dry. They are really kind of neat.
I went to Tallahassee last weekend for Bennett's first birthday. It is hard to believe he is a year old already.
He is so cute and such a happy baby. The party was going to be a picnic at the park but the weather was not going to cooperate so they had it at the house instead. It was a wonderful party. Brooke had the cutest decorations, everything picnic oriented. She does and excellent job and maybe when she goes back to work she should think about changing fields from teaching to party planner.
Rice Crispie Treats flavored with Kool-Aid and made to look like a watermelon slice.
Bennett's smash the cake outfit. What a stud!
Bennett enjoying his cake.

Bennett's other outfit for the party.
Bennett mowing the lawn with his new lawn mower. Now Jack and Bennett can help daddy.
I had such a great time with Adam, Brooke, and the boys. Alex and Jessica came up too and Jessica you better watch out because it looks like Alex has a new girlfriend. I don't know her name, but she sure is adorable.
This is Jack telling me "No, Grandma, don't take my picture!"
What a little imp!
Jack is a better mood. We went out for breakfast and had a window table overlooking a small pond. Jack loves to go out to eat.
I bought myself a new camera like Brooke's, a Canon Rebel 3T and am enjoying getting used to it. It does take great pictures. I want to get the other lens, but it will have to wait for awhile. It is almost as expensive as the camera.
These are pictures of my Easter cards. I just love this honeycomb stuff.

Darla, Dale and the twins came over yesterday for dinner. We had the best time. The girls are so sweet and so adorable. Seeing them helps me not miss Jack, Bennett, Sasha, and Francois so much. They brought us all kinds of refrigerator artwork and a plastered square of their hand prints. I was going to do those of Jack & Bennett, and Sasha & Francois when they come, so now I have one of the girls too.
Emma with Katy and Gampy Spicer. She is partial to dogs and men.
Lily showing me her painted nails for Easter.
They love these dresses because they are great for twirling and we girls know how important that is to us.
Our Easter gift from the girls. They also gave me this beautiful box with, of course, Paris, all over it.
