3 Months Behind

Okay, okay, I know I am behind but I do have a good reason. I really have been busy planning our trip to France and it certainly has taken over my life. We are ready to go except for packing so I now have a little free time. I do have to do a page for Frances before we leave.
Well, lets see, where to start. 2 months ago at card class we made this card. We also made a flower pen.
Last month we made these 2 cards.
We did them on slick paper. I guess I will have to buy some of that paper because I really like the effects.
Here is a picture of a picture of Bennett. Isn't he beautiful?
Here is one of Bennett and Jack at the mall with the Easter Bunny. Jack wasn't too happy about it at all.
This is the card I made for Frances for her birthday. There really isn't much to it. All the pieces come on a sheet and you just punch them out and use pop dots to raise the layers. It is really cute though.
I made this card for Adam for his birthday but forgot I had made it and went and bought him one so I guess I will save it for another time. It is made with Stamps by Judith. I just love her stamps. Lynn & I met her in Atlanta when we went to the Scrapbook Expo.

This is the page I made for myself for my magnetic frame. The one below is the one I made for Adam & Brooke.
I love these one month pictures of Bennett.

This is the page I did for Frances last month. I think it is probably my favorite.
The following two cards are the ones we made this month at card class. I will miss class next month. We have such a good time and always go out for dinner afterward.

I sent Libby a bunch of card sets for her to sell in her store. I took pictures of some of them and will post them next time if I remember. Au revoir until we come home.

New Pages

Well, now that we have a new baby I have to get started again doing pages for Brooke and for myself for our scrapbook frames. Here are the first two, one for Brooke (which will go in Bennett's album when I send her another one next month) and the second one is for us. We are going to visit this weekend so James can see Bennett. I will bring it up when we come Brooke. Adam says Bennett is so laid back we might even go to the spring Garnet & Gold football game if the weather permits.

Frances, begged & begged for a new page so after she finally uploaded pictures to Walgreens, I made her a page. I forgot to take a picture of it so she will have to take one when it arrives and send it to me. I was teasing her that I wouldn't post it until she received it but I guess the joke is on me since I forgot to take the picture. I also forgot to take a picture of her birthday card. Maybe, if I am good, she will send a picture of that too. :)

We went out to lunch today with Dale, Darla, and the twins. James had not seen them in a long time. They have really grown. We had a marvelous time. The girls are so cute and well-behaved they are a pleasure to be around. They have been raised like my Aunt Mickey always said. "Raise children so we can enjoy them, not tolerate them."
Lily is the one with the curls. She is a real girly girl-loves pocket books, jewelry etc. Emma is the quieter one I think.

What a darling family.
I went back to the little baby boutique, Little Peeps, on Dale Mabry yesterday across from Plant High. I had gotten Bennett a swaddle blanket there for the shower and vowed to go back. They have the most beautiful frames, I just had to go back and get one. I will have to get a really good picture of Bennett this next weekend to go in this frame.
There is another one I want that I will get next time I go that way. It is made out of rough wood and is covered with smashed bottle caps. It will be perfect for Jack Thomas.
Two more weeks until Spring Break-Yeah!!!

March Activities

Card class in February was great. Lynn, Ruth Ann, Sally and I were joined by Evillee (our reading coach)  and her mom, Cookie, so now there are 6 of us. We made two birthday cards-one I sent to Sasha for her birthday which is tomorrow. I can't believe she is 8 years old.
I also made my St. Patrick's day cards and got them in the mail.
I had to get my Easter cards done too, because I didn't want to wait until the last minute with Brooke due April 7. I made several different ones but haven't put them in the mail yet.
These two were made with shrinky dink.  All I had to do was print the picture out on this special shrinky dink paper, cut them out, and then heat them with a heat gun and watch them shrink.
This one was a stamp that I colored.
Well it was a good thing I got ahead of the game because Bennett William Spicer decided to make his debut a few days early. He was born on Monday, March 28. Adam called me at school and I left to go home, pack and drive to Tallahassee so I could take care of Jack while they were in the hospital. I got there around 8 pm. Their friend, Jill, was babysitting him and already had him in bed, so what a surprise he got in the morning when Grandma was there to take care of him. He was an absolute angel. He didn't even take a nap on Tuesday and you would never have known it. We went to the hospital to meet Bennett Tuesday. Jack didn't seem to impressed with the baby. On Wednesday, after story time at the library, we went to visit again. Later that day they got to come home and when Jack woke up from his 4 hour nap, mommy and daddy and baby were there.
Bennett William Spicer-8 lbs. 8 oz. 19.9" long.
Look at all the dark hair.
My adorable, good boy, Jack Thomas. Adam says Jack is getting used to Bennett and Bennett is getting used to all the noise Jack and Chelsea make. He is sleeping 4 1/2 hours at night, so they are getting some sleep. He is an excellent eater too. I can't wait to go to Tallahassee again. I will be there during Spring Break to help Brooke and hopefully I will get to take Jack to music class and library time.

I went to Violette's yesterday and took a class from Florence. She is so talented and creative. We made an Easter book. I think I will save it until next year when both boys will be able to hunt eggs. I should have some good pictures of them.
This is the front of the book. It is held together by a small magnet.
These are pictures of some of the inside pages.
We also made this neat little container for candy, etc.
I just love it and it is easy to make.
I made a birthday card today for Frances, but will post it next month after her birthday. Too bad, Frances, you will have to wait to see it. I would do that page you want me to do for your frame if you would send pictures-hint hint.

Odds & Ends

Since last Friday was a teacher work day, I, like 90% of the teachers at my school, took a personal day and hitched a ride to Tallahassee with Lynn and her husband. They were going to visit Lynn's sister and I wanted to go play with Jack Thomas. We did take a "little" break in Ocala at Hobby Lobby. We just can't pass that place without stopping. I found this Paris frame so, of course, I bought it.
What a great visit I had with Adam, Brooke, Chelsea and Jack. I really appreciate it that they let me come so often.
Jack  is walking now, and what a doll he is. He really loves his toys and loves to play. He has already figured out how to do the Lego that we got him for his birthday.

But I do believe that books are his favorite thing. He lost his favorite book, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, at the mall one day so Adam and I went to Books A Million on a quest to find a new one. Jack just loves this store-unlike his father whom I had to bribe as a child to go to Barnes and Nobles with me. Adam put him down and he literally ran from table to table looking at the displays. We led him over to the children's section and he started to play with the train set they have set up.
Adam found a copy of the book and said "Jack, look. Here is Brown Bear, Brown Bear." Well, he dropped the train and ran over to get the book. He was so happy that he ran all around the store looking at the pages of the book. Finally he just sat down so he could really enjoy his book.
Before we went to the book store we went to lunch at Red Elephant. Jack had a ball. There were so many people coming and going-he is quite the people watcher. He loves lemons so Adam gave him one. You would never know he liked them by the face he made.
Later, we went to a park in their subdivision and Jack really had a good time. He loves the slides.

Then it was time for some loving time with Chelsea, dinner and a bath.

He has the cutiest little behind!! I really did hate to leave but will be back soon for Bennett's shower.
This Saturday I went to the twin's 2nd birthday party. Emma and Lily are so cute and really loved having all the company.

A friend of Darla's made these cute cakes for them.
Last week, I made another card sample for our reading coach for her invitation to her 40th birthday party. She really liked this one and is going to do it for her party.
Darla gave me a beautiful frame for pictures from our trip. It is double sided so we can put two pictures in it. I absolutely love it.
I don't know who the lovely couple is, but they are cute.

January 2011

I know I am behind, I didn't even post our January card class. We made two Valentines cards.

Here is the other one.
I made the first one for my cards that I send out but I changed the color scheme.

I also made two pages for Brooke's scrapbook frame but forgot to take pictures of them before I mailed them. One was of Christmas and one was for Jack's birthday.
This month at card class we made one card and decorated an envelope. I really liked both of them.
Sorry the picture isn't better.
While I was at Violette's I found this cute paper for potty training. I bought two sheets-one for Jack and one for Francois.
The reading coach at my school is planning to have a very large 40th birthday party and asked me about ideas for invitations. She either wanted a big high healed shoe or a martini glass and wanted purple and black. I made this one today for her to see. I think it turned out cute.

Jack's First Birthday

We went to Tallahassee this weekend for Jack's first birthday. We also brought back Adam's old bedroom furniture they were using in the guest room. The guest room is now going to be the nursery for Bennett.
Jack felt a lot better this weekend. He had a bad bout of diaper rash over Christmas and was not too happy about it. This weekend he felt much better. We went out for breakfast for his birthday. He ate so much. He really likes a variety of things. He had 2 mini pancakes before we went to the restaurant. Then he ate some potatoes, eggs, and sausage and then drank his bottle.
He opened his presents from us and from his mommy and daddy. Next weekend he is having a party with his little friends and his other grand parents. James has to work, that is why we went this weekend. He really wasn't sure about the cake.

But after awhile he got the hang of it and ate some.

A great family portrait!
