Boy did we ever have fun participating in the Tampa Bay Treasure Hunt. Lynn, Jody and I had a ball and managed to get to all 11 stores in 3 days. We had to purchase a passport for $10.00. (Approximately 800 passports were purchased.) Along with that came a 6x6 album, beads, and several scrapbooking items. We had to visit all 11 scrapbook stores in ten days and purchase at least $5.00 at each store-like that was hard to do! They would then stamp our passport and we would get a special tag from each store to tie onto our beads. At some stores we were able to do our Make and Take-a scrapbook page for our 6x6 album, and at others it was a Take and Make.

We preferred the Make and Take because it was fun to sit down and talk with other participants. Each store had a pirate scene set up for photos and one even had a Jack Sparrow look-alike actor (above) to have our picture made with. After visiting all 11 stores-one was in Spring Hill, another in New Port Richey, 1 in Hudson, 2 in St. Pete, 2 in Tampa, 1 in Brandon, 1 in Lakeland, and 2 in Sarasota, we turned our passports in at the last store we visited and they will be entered into a drawing for some great prizes.
1st place is a $100.00 gift certificate at each store-that's $1,100.00 of scrapbooking stuff!! Wow! 2nd place is $50.00 at each store, and 3rd place is $25.00 at each store. We decided that if one of us won 1st place we would share it between the 3 of us. It really would be cool to win. They also have a contest for the best decorated cover. I am working on mine but with so many entries it would be a miracle to win, but it is fun to create the cover.
We really got into it and dressed up like pirates with matching hats, shirts, sashes, jewelry, and booty bags.
